Barbecue 101: 3 Delicious Ways to Serve Grilled Pork Chop

While some people love their grilled meat simply seasoned with salt and pepper, it’s ideal to take it up a notch when you’re serving it up at a barbecue with all your friends. To save time, grill pork chops for everyone – but serve it in a variety of ways to suit everyone’s taste.

Here are three simple but great ways to serve up barbecue pork chops that will be a winner for everyone at the barbecue:

Grilled Pork with Sweet Pineapple

What do you need:

  • 6 1/2-inch thick pork loin

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cups of crushed pineapple

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup Sauterne wine

  • 3 tablespoons of brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon of dry mustard

In a medium glass bowl with a lid, combine the onion, soy sauce, Sauterne wine, vegetable oil and dry mustard. Place the chops in a bowl and sprinkle with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight, turning once during marinade. When done, cook chops (discard marinade) on preheated grill over high heat for 5 to 7 minutes per side or until cooked through. Top each with pineapple and brown sugar before removing from heat.

Grilled Ham and Cheese Chops

What do you need:

  • 4 3/4 inch thick pork loin

  • 4 slices of ham

  • 4 slices of mozzarella cheese

  • 4 slices of tomato

  • Chopped fresh oregano to taste

  • Paprika to taste

  • Season with salt and ground black pepper

Season the pork with salt and pepper and cook on the preheated grill over medium heat until browned, about 6-8 minutes per side. Top each cutlet with a slice of ham, a slice of cheese and a slice of tomato, then sprinkle with oregano and paprika. Grill 2-3 minutes more or until cheese melts. Let stand for at least 5 minutes before serving.

Creamy Mustard BBQ Pork

What do you need:

  • 3/4 pound center-cut boneless pork chops (1/2-inch thick)

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • Garlic powder to taste

Brush the brushes with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Cook on a preheated grill over medium heat, about 6-8 minutes per side. While grilling, mix honey and prepared yellow mustard in a bowl. About 5 minutes before cooking, brush both sides with the honey-mustard mixture. Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Now you can satisfy the different tastes of your barbecue guests by serving only one type of meat – pork chops!
